Displaying IP routes
About this task
Use this procedure to display all active routes in the routing table.
Route entries appear in ascending order of the destination IP addresses.
Procedure
To display all active routes in the routing table, enter the following from the User EXEC
command mode:
show ip route [<dest-ip>] [-s <subnet><mask>] [summary]

Specifies the destination IP address of the route to
display.
[-s <subnet><mask>]
Specifies the destination subnet of the routes to
display.
[summary]
Displays a summary of IP route information.
Performing a traceroute
About this task
Use this procedure to display the route taken by IP packets to a specified host.
Procedure
1. To perform a traceroute, enter the following from the Global Configuration mode:
traceroute <Hostname|A.B.C.D.> <-m> <-p> <-q> <-v> <-w>

2. Type CTRL+C to interrupt the command.

Specifies the name of the remote host.
A.B.C.D
Specifies the IP address of the remote host.
-m
Specifies the maximum time to live (ttl). The value
for this parameter is in the rage from 1-255. The
default value is 10. Example: traceroute 10.3.2.134
