CHAPTER 7.
STARTING AND
STOPPING THE ANTI-VIRUS
SCANNING
If a critical event occurs, the scanning of messages and database files for viruses
stops. To resume scanning, the user should load the scanning modules. To do
so, type the following in the command line:
load kavmonitor
load kavscanner
Sometimes it is necessary to scan one of the anti-virus databases using the
Scanner module. To do so, type the following in the command line:
load kavscanner <database name>
Sometimes it may be necessary to stop the work of Monitor and Scanner
modules . To do so, type the following in the command line:
tell kavmonitor quit
tell kavscanner quit
To set the time and date of the next database scan by Scanner module, type the
following in the command line:
tell kavscanner setnewtime [dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm]
In order to maintain proper antiviral protection you should update anti-virus
databases weekly using Kaspersky Anti-Virus
®
Updater (see Chapter 11 on page
70).
To start database scan by Scanner module immediately, set the following key in
the command line:
tell kavscanner start
To make the scanning modules use the updated anti-virus databases they
should be reloaded. To do so, set the following key in the command line:
tell kavmonitor reloaddbs
tell kavscanner reloaddbs
