VoIP user. If 0, dial plan processing is
disabled; the given target number will be
dialed to the PSTN as is.
Similar for
Users 2 – 8
Note: If Authentication is disabled, then a default dial plan is used for all unknown VoIP users.
4.4.2. Two-Stage
Dialing
In 2-stage dialing, the SPA will take the FXO port off-hook but will not dial any digits automatically
after accepting the call. To invoke 2-stage dialing, the VoIP caller should INVITE the FXO Line
without the user-id in the Request-URI or with a user-id that matches exactly the <User ID> of the
FXO Line. Other user-id in the Request-URI will be treated as a request for 1-stage dialing (Section
2.1) if 1-stage dialing is enabled, or dropped by the SPA (as if no user-id is given) if 1-stage dialing is
disabled.
HTTP Digest Authentication can be used for 2-stage dialing also just like in 1-stage dialing. If using
HTTP Digest Authentication or Authentication is disabled, the VoIP caller should be hearing PSTN
dial tone right after the call is answered (by a SIP 200 response).
If PIN Authentication is enabled, the VoIP Caller will be prompted to enter a PIN number right after
the SPA answers the call. The PIN number must be ended with a # key. Inter-PIN-digit timeout is 10
seconds (not configurable). Up to 8 VoIP Caller PIN can be configured on the SPA-3000. A dial plan
can be selected for each PIN number. If the caller enters a wrong pin or the SPA times out waiting for
more PIN digits, the SPA tears down the call immediately with a BYE request.
NOTE: If Authentication is disabled, a default dial plan will be assigned to all VoIP callers.
TODO: The prompt for VoIP PIN is a beep-beep tone. We should use a human voice later
TODO: Programmable PIN inter-digit timeout
NOTE: When the source address of the INVITE is 127.0.0.1, authentication is automatically disabled
since this is a call by the local user. This applies to both 1-stage and 2-stage dialing

4.5. PSTN-To-VoIP
Calls
PSTN-To-VoIP Calls can be made with 2-stage dialing only. The only authentication method available
is the PIN method.
The SPA takes the FXO port off hook after a certain (configurable) number of rings. If PIN
Authentication is enabled, it prompts the caller to enter the PIN number followed by a # key. Inter-
