6.4 Command Field
The third field in the ISiCL command line is the
command
field. For the DCS there are three ISiCL
commands. Each command can have multiple parameters that are associated with it. As you might
expect,
parameters
are entered in the parameter field (Section 6.5). Table 6-1 lists the ISiCL
commands.
Table 6-1. Valid Command Fields Entries
Command
Description
SET
Used to set a particular parameter on the common module, channel module, or DCS (CM-95
module) as identified by the subaddress field (Section 6.4). Every
SET
command must include a
valid parameter name and value in the parameter field.
Command example:
13:DCS:SET:CLOCK=1,2;
Response:
*OK;
CONFIG?
Lists the configuration settings for the module named in the subaddress field (Section 6.4). The
parameter field in a
CONFIG?
command should be left blank.
Command example:
13:DCS:CONFIG?:;
Response:
*OK
SRVC=ON
ELOS=ON
ELOD=ON
EA1S=ON
EBER=ON EFLOF=OFF
EYEL=ON
EITU=OFF
ACT1=ON
ACT2=ON
ACT3=OFF
ACT4=OFF
ACT5=OFF
ACT6=OFF;
STATUS?
When addressed to a module, lists the state of all “S” (status) parameters associated with that
module (Section 6.11).
Command example:
13:DCS:STATUS?:;
Response:
*OK
ALERT=ON
FAIL=OFF LOF1
LOD1
LOF2
LOD2
MAP=1;
In this case, the
STATUS?
command's parameter field should be left blank.
STATUS?
is the
default command if the command field is left blank. This feature is convenient, providing a quick
method for checking the status of a device. The colon terminating the field must always be
present. A
STATUS?
command can be issued simply by typing three colons and a semicolon:
:::;
