Installing the WANPOWER TSR
The WANPOWER TSR is required whenever the WAN feature (radio) is installed
in PEN*KEY Computers. The following paragraphs deal with features and the
procedures for installing the WANPOWER TSR.
The WANPOWER TSR is invoked from the command line or automatically in the
AUTOEXEC.BAT file. The following format is used:
WANPOWER
/T:threshold_number /I:wakeup_interval /[H|?]
/S:power /V:battery
The
/?
or
/H
switches display the command line and the switches available.
threshold_number
is the amount of time remaining on the main battery when
the radio is shut off to avoid draining the backup battery.
wakeup_interval
is the interval at which the TSR periodically brings up the
CPU to check for radio activity.
power
determines whether the PC Card slot is powerĆmanaged (that is, when
the unit suspends, should the radio be turned off?).
battery
determines whether the radio's battery is charged.
If no parameters are specified and WANPOWER is not already active, default
values for
threshold_number
,
activity_period
and
wakeup_interval
are provided.
Where possible, these defaults are based on the installed radio. Enter
WANPOW-
ER
at the command prompt for this option.
If WANPOWER is already installed, it displays its current parameter values You
can override these values, by specifying new ones on the command line.
Each switch and parameter value are checked for validity. Errors are flagged
and specific messages for each parameter in error are displayed.
