To identify the IP address of the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server that the telco-
return CM must access, use the
cable telco-return spd dhcp-server
command in cable interface
configuration mode. To restore the default value, use the
no
form of this command.

The IP address is set to 0.

Usage Guidelines
This command sets the DHCP Server parameter in the specified SPD in Telephony Channel Descriptor
(TCD) messages. Telco-return CMs use the DHCP server that is identified by this IP address if the
cable
telco-return spd dhcp-authenticate
command is configured. If the
cable telco-return spd dhcp-
authenticate
command is not configured, the CMs use any available DHCP server.
Note
This command is available only in images that support telco-return. These images have a “t” as part of
the image name.
Examples
The following example indicates that for SPD 2, CMs must use the DHCP server identified by IP address
192.168.255.255:
